Space Heater Safety

Cozy Products meet strict safety standards through these certifications:

ETL Listed Mark

The ETL Listed Mark from Intertek is proof of product compliance (electrical, gas and other safety standards) to North American safety standards.  Retailers and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) in all 50 states and Canada accept the ETL Listed Mark as proof of product safety.

Intertek is an OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) recognized NRTL (Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory) and is accredited as a Testing Organization and Certification Body by the SCC (Standards Council of Canada).

Intertek tests to the following standards for the North American Market:

  • UL (Underwriters Laboratories)
  • ANSI (American National Standards Institute)
  • CSA (Canadian Standards Association)
  • ASTM (American Society for Testing & Materials)
  • NFPA (National Fire Protection Association)
  • NOM (Norma Oficial Mexicana / Official Mexican Standard)

ETL Zero-Clearance Rating

Zero-clearance items have been approved by the ETL to be mounted with 'zero-clearance', meaning they can be placed on or against combustible items without causing a fire hazard.  Zero-clearance approval eliminates the need for a buffer zone and allows a heating unit to fit in small, tight spaces or to be mounted directly on walls, wood, paneling, etc.

The Cozy Legs flat-panel heater is a Zero-Clearance item as well an ETL Certified item.
