Winter 2016: The Old Farmer’s Almanac Forecasts Another Frigid Season

According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, Winter 2016 isn't looking easy for Americans. Cozy Products, a Chicago-based energy-efficient personal heating company, reports on what to expect.

winter can be brutal

Another winter is quickly approaching with a familiar prediction by The Old Farmer’s Almanac. According to their 2016 Winter Report, the United States will be experiencing an extremely cold winter of below average temperatures. Cozy Products, heating control experts, report on this and other winter predictions.

The Almanac reports, “Freezing temperatures will be especially pronounced along most of the Atlantic seaboard and in the Ohio Valley, Great Lakes, Pacific Northwest, and southwestern states.”

With temperatures dropping below normal, snowfall doesn’t look any nicer for other United States regions. “The Northeast, Ohio Valley, northern Plains, and Pacific Northwest should brace for a slew of snow.” For these areas, the extreme cold and above normal snowfall will make this coming winter one to endure.

However, for places like Boston who had hit a record high snowfall last year, people won’t have to worry about another winter of that extreme. The Almanac states, “The good news is that areas with record-shattering snow last winter – like Boston – won’t have to deal with quite so many flakes.”

Kelly Nelson of Cozy Products states, “We choose to use The Old Farmer’s Almanac here because it’s what we use ourselves; they even get Chicago weather predictions right. No one gets Chicago’s weather predictions right!”

Since Cozy Products sells personal heaters and have peak sales during the coldest months, accurate weather predictions are critical.

For the past two winters, Cozy Products has broadcasted and seen the great precision of the Almanac’s predictions. Impressively its traditional accuracy rate is a whopping 80 percent. NY Daily News even quotes that last year’s 2015 forecast alone scored a high 96.3 percent accuracy!

According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac page, they were founded in 1792 by Robert B. Thomas, and utilize a private and sophisticated scientific formula with state of the art technology. The development of the formula combines studies of solar science, sunspots, solar activity, weather patterns, and more to make their accurate estimates each year.

Cozy Products offers an array of low wattage personal heaters that are cost-effective, safe, and energy efficient. All products are tested by reputable companies to ensure maximum safety by reducing risks of fire and circuit overloads. Unlike standard space heaters, most Cozy Products heathers only require as much energy as a light bulb to run. With a focus for a superior level of quality, Cozy Products strives to meet the highest of standards.
